Summer Reading: Pure by Julianna Baggott
In the book Pure there were a few complex characters and one of them was Pressia, a teenage girl who lived in the outside world. A complex character is someone who changes throughout the story which is exactly what happened to Pressia. At the beginning of the book Pressia used to be a shy, not very social girl. She had lived with her grandfather and would do anything to aid their survival. And most of all she hated Pures, the people who lived in the Dome and were saved from the effects of the Detonations. As the story progressed, she became more of a daring and adventurous person. When she met a Pure, named Partridge she began to accept new ideas and even lessened her hatred towards Pures. But after Pressia had learned more about her family, that's when she knew she could never be the same again.
